If you have a slower computer this is a place where you will notice that slowness, or the fastness of a quicker computer. If you're going to be doing a lot of different videos, you might want to think of upgrading your computer and making it faster. This will pay off in the long run.

You will need to render the movie or write it onto your hard disk. Here again you will notice if you have a faster computer, this process will take all of a few minutes, but a slower machine will take several hours.

When you are transferring data from the camera to the FireWire cable, your computer and hard disk must be able to have the capability to keep up with the camera, or you will possibly lose frames. The same can happen when you are transferring the information back to the camera, the processor needs to be able to get the data streamed quickly or the camera will possibly lose frames.

If you're looking into the software you need to edit a video on your computer, there are many different choices. Windows XP actually has this ability built into the operating system. Machines that come from Sony and even Apple also have the software with the machine when you purchase it.

Of course you will have to learn the proper ways to edit you're hopefully "bring you to stardom" video. But with a bit of practice you may be able to turn that video into a professional looking piece of work.
